Red, White and Blue Picnic Dessert Jars
Celebrate summer with these Red, White and Blue Picnic Dessert Jars! Layered with buttery pound cake, fresh berries, and jam, these easy-to-pack treats are perfect for picnics and Fourth of July celebrations.
Ingredients
1 pound cake, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
Directions
- Prepare a pound cake using this recipe. Cut into ½ inch cubes.
- Spoon the jellies into two separate bowls. Heat each bowl in the microwave for 15-20 seconds to loosen the consistency. Lightly mix in the raspberries with the raspberry jam, being careful not to crush the fruit. Repeat the same process with the blueberries.
- Layer the pound cake cubes at the bottom of the jar. Add a layer of the raspberry mixture, another layer of the pound cake, and then a layer of the blueberry mixture. Cover with lids and refrigerate until ready to serve.
- If taking to a picnic, place the jars in a cooler with a container of whipped cream and mint.
- Garnish with whipped cream and mint when ready to serve.
