We are pleased to introduce Jeff, an 8-year employee of Hertzfeld Poultry Farms. Jeff began his career in processing, taking the job because it was close to home. He has excelled and advanced to the supervisor of shipping and receiving, bringing with him a calm and collected demeanor while communicating with various vendors.

Jeff is responsible for the farm's first line of biosecurity. He works and communicates with truck drivers and other vendors to ensure trucks are clean, inside and out, before entering the farm. He will admit hand packing a shipping container with 840 cases of eggs for international shipping is a challenge and time-consuming, but it must be done correctly to get the product safely to the end destination. He also shares that during the summer, he does not mind having to be in and out of the on-site cooler.

Jeff has seen new barns, new storage, new breakrooms, and an upgrade of equipment during his tenure, much of which has entered the farm under his watchful eye. When he is not mentoring his colleague and brother, Jessie, on the loading dock, he enjoys playing video games, cheering on the Cleveland Browns, and watching Michigan play. Thank you, Jeff, for carrying the weight of responsibilities well, whether enforcing biosecurity measures to protect the Hertzfeld flocks or getting eggs on their way across the world.
