- Cut or tear up babka into ~1 in. pieces.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, cream, brown sugar (if using), cinnamon, salt, vanilla, and nutmeg.
- Melt butter and pour into a 9x13 baking dish.
- Put cut up babka into the baking dish and pour the egg mixture over the top.
- Squish down the babka so that it is soaking up the egg mixture.
- Put the dish into the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- Once you're ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350°F, cover the dish with foil, and bake for 25 minutes.
- Uncover the dish and continue baking for 25-30 more minutes, until the internal temperature is at least 160°F.
- Serve with maple syrup or as is and enjoy!
