Make the most of hard-boiled eggs

Egg boiling 101

For the perfect hard-boiled eggs, follow these tips and tricks:

Bring ½ to 1 inch of water to a boil in a large saucepan.

Carefully add in your eggs using a pair of tongs or a large spoon.

Cover the pan and allow the eggs to cook for 12 minutes. For extra-large eggs, allow them to cook for 13 minutes.

Allow eggs to cool completely under cold running water or in a bowl of ice water.

Give your dyed Easter eggs a chance and create a delicious recipe that helps cut down on waste. Follow these tips for saving your eggs:

When crafting this spring season, do not leave eggs out of the refrigerator for more than 2 hours, and be sure to use food-safe dyes. To ensure your eggs stay safe during egg hunts, avoid hiding eggs in spots where they could come into contact with lawn chemicals, pets or wild animals.

When stored in the refrigerator, hard-boiled eggs can be safely enjoyed within 1 week of being cooked.

To ensure eggs stay fresh, be sure to store them in the coldest part of your fridge at 45 degrees or below – never in the refrigerator door.
